when did world war 2 start and finish ?

I guess there are several dates which can be involved but most well known is 3rd Sept 1939 (when Britain and France declared war on germany) till 2nd Sept 1945 (surrender of the Japs)
although some class the start as 1st Sept when Germany and Russia invaded Poland
and u could go as far back to 1937 when Japan and China were a war (but i dont think that classes as WW2 because not many countries were involved in that)
