there was conceivably a time in early Greece before people started to run out of land and it became a source of conflict with others. They would have lived healthily out of doors and been self-sufficient for food. So it's not impossible. But women and babies probably died in childbirth a lot and there was no Facebook, so not necessarily golden for everyone.
