However, the Opies who write on Nursery rhymes, say this type of interpretation is not useful. Eek running out of space: a disease called progeria - premature aging. ******** syndrome is a variant of this.
The rhyme itself is the typical pessimistic message, rooted in anger at a strong class structure with too many people on the bottom; the days are years, a common kind of riddle.
