Myths, like fairy tales, are usually known by the names of the characters - Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, Hades and Persephone. Her mother followed her and almost convinced Hades to let Persephone return to earth, but the heedless daughter did not obey warnings not to eat while she was in the underworld. She ate a single pomegranate seed so she could never leave entirely. She comes to visit her mother, Ceres, goddes of the harvest, every spring and summer, and when she goes back to Hades, Ceres causes all the plants to shrivel up. There are plenty of books on Greek mythology that are fun to read - try the one by Edith Hamilton.
Good summary Kingaroo, but you've mixed up your Roman and Greek gods. Hades and Persephone are Greek names, but Ceres is Roman; the Greek equivalent is Demeter.
Oops, I knew that. For extra credit I'll remind you all that Ceres gave her name to cereal.
Actually, Persephone ate six pomegranite seeds -- signifying the six months of fall and winter.

Do you know any sites that I might be able to find this information?
Go to any Greek Myths site. You can even just type "Persephone" or "Hades" in your address bar and it will bring up some sites for you to browse. Good luck!
