ITS TO COLD TO SNOW !!
in this country over the years i have often heard this statement has it any foundation ??

In a sense, yes. Although it can snow at any temeprature, low temperatures can be associated with air stability. Without some instability there's not enough lifting of saturated air to allow snow to develop aloft and fall to reach the surface. When temperature decreases, the maximum capacity of water vapor that can be retained in the air decreases. Therefore, the colder it gets the less water vapor there will be in the air and with the reduced water vapor content add little or no air movement (especially vertically) and voila... too cold to snow... You don't usually get gaps after sentences, except for normal spaces. It only occurs at the start of a new paragraph. : )

Yes but if you`re going to type a long answer, rather than make it one large block of writing as above.

Leave a few gaps so to make it easier on the eye and not run out of breath reading it.

The answer is no. While it is true that you need some moisture in the air to snow and that there is less moisture when it is very cold, snow has been recorded at -41� and -50� Celsius. The only temperature where it is too cold to snow is absolute zero, where nothing happens at all.
