Phone Cards

My boyfriend is in iraq and only gets 30 mins per week to phone home to everyone with a phone card. I wanted to buy him an extra phone card so he can phone round everyone and have a proper chat, is this allowed and can I get him a normal phone card or do they have special military ones?

Yes, I remember you! Its hard but we're halfway there now, he is due to fly back on April 7th. I'm sure its worrying for you with him being in Afghan, how are you getting on? I've a chart with the days until he comes back and I mark one off every night. I miss him so much but get to talk to him on the phone and email so we can keep in touch ok. I hope you're managing ok. hey caj, nice to hear from you:) glad you deal with it ok.that bloke im seeing back on 7th april too, and they will transit from cyprus i guess, any possibility in same trip with ur bf?
i do think the distance makes things difficult, as im losing the feeling gradually if not seeing him much, is that really bad:(

I think my bf is flying back from Quatar to Brize Norton. I've had my ups and downs while he's been away. I've had time to find myself and thinking time! No, thats not neccessarily a bad thing mirela, I've had days where because I can manage so well without him I've wondered if I needed him as much as I thought and then I've thought I would be able to cope if I wasn't with him. But then I have days when I speak to him and he makes me laugh, days when I miss him so much and can't wait for him to be home and realise my life is so empty without him. I think its normal to have feelings like that. It is hard though and messes with your head but if its meant to be you'll know once he's been back a while.

I'm thinking it will be strange when he gets back because I've not seen him for so long and it will take a while to get back to where we were. I may be wrong but I think it will be hard to be intimate with him again straight away!

i can understand what you mean caj :)
me and that guy only just started going out before he back to afhan, although we have known each other over 2 years, but always like friends only. i feel a bit bad, he is always so happy to see me online, wait for me to talk to him, or call me when im away on holiday, but i dont feel same, i feel i could forget him gradually if not seeing him, so feel a bit guilty...:(((
anyway, time does fly, remember last time when i read your post, you were worrying about his away, now he is coming back soon!!! im sure you will have great time when hes back:)

Its a lot different to them mirela, they wait for our emails, letters and look forward to speaking to us and hearing our voices. You have to remember that we still have everything we always had around us (except them), we can see friends, go shopping, watch a film whereas they can't do anything like that so calls and emails are made so much more important. I also feel a bit guilty for getting on with things and going out but I know he would rather I did that.

We had some good news last night, he might be coming back on the 3rd April instead now!!! Its to be confirmed today! :o)

Nope, its to be the 7th he leaves so probably won't be back til the 10th...
