Is it generally true that if you think you have sen a ghost, you believe in them and if not, you don't?

It's just that I have never seen or heard anything supernatural, but I think there is far too much evidence to dismiss it, so I am a believer.

I have not witnessed anything myself but far too many intelligent and reliable people I know have experienced unexplained happenings or sightings. I personally believe that there are reasons for these 'ghosts' or 'spirits' that as yet are unknown to science. I would never say that ghosts do not exist.

Having said that I think that mediums and astrology, fortune tellers, etc. are a load of bunkum!!!

I'm with you on that, though I think there COULD be some genuine mediums. I think it puts us in a minority though in having not seen anything but still believing.
I'm really interested in it all though, so I've found out too much to dismiss it.

I think there may be mediums that think they are genuine, but I don't believe in an afterlife or communication with the dead. I believe there is a explanation for everything.

My very down to earth neighbours have a 'ghost'! We have been neighbours for 30 years but they only told me recently about their 'ghost'. They don't find it necessary to talk about it because it's just a fact of life to them and doesn't bother them in the least.

I agree. I am no scientist but I think ghosts may have something to do with light and sound waves that are somehow 'trapped' - new discoveries may well prove the existence of what we now think of as 'ghosts'.

I used to live in a haunted house when i was very young.......and believe me i do believe in ghosts since that time. I have witnessed along with a friend a woman waving to us from the doorway while we stood on the drive outside,a shoe being thrown across the living room floor and into the kitchen. Faces appearing at the windows out of thin air at night,footsteps, weird lights dancing around our backyard etc.
The answer to your question is simple mariner2, if you witness and see something with your own eyes then if it is all to real then you then generally believe.

Not necessarily. A friend of mine used to see the figure of a man standing in one the doorways, but whenever she tunred to look properly, it disappeared. She put it down to tiredness or needing glasses!
On the other hand, we have "ghosts" appear in our house. Family and friends've seen them here as well, but we're used to them now. I definitely believe my own eyes.
