Please clarify what kind of football - Association, American, Australian Rules, Rugby etc.?

Footballs are round: always have been, always will be.
They are not round, nor are they spherical.  The shape is an oblate curved semi-regular 20-hedron formed from 12 pentagons and 20 hexagons, with 60 nodes, otherwise known as a buckyball or a Buckminsterfullerene molecule of Carbon-60. (Try googling buckminster-fuller if you want to know what I mean).
Ah, but the polygons are not planar, so a soccer ball does approach a sphere.  It's a bulgy buckyball ball.
I know that the polygons are not planar, which is why I said "oblate" and "curved" (a bit like a 50p).
The shape was first made in the first instant of time after the Big Bang, and the Universe is still expanding in the same shape as we take Answerbank forward.
