Medal ribbons

I have seen a pic of an MP being awarded a medal by Sir Jock Stirrup. Both Sir Jock and the MP are wearing a medal with the ribbon showing L to R, as you face it, 3 vertical stripes red,yellow & green. Anyone know what this is?

Along with the ribbons for the Order of the Bath, Air Force Cross and Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal, Sir Jock also wears those of the Oman General Service Medal (3 vertical stripes - scarlet, white and green) and the Oman As Samood "Victory" Medal following his service on loan with the Sultan of Oman's Air Force during the Dhofar War.

The medal is described as `of silver with a crimson, gold and green ribbon`. These colours represent The House of Lords, The Queen and The House of Commons. It is awarded to MPs who have served for at least 10 years on the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme. It is an unofficial medal and, as such, would have to be worn on the right breast. It is regarded by many as a `mickey-mouse` medal and to wear it would be an insult to all those who have been awarded REAL medals. Significantly, it is `of silver`. All normal medals awarded to the ordinary soldier, sailor or airman are of base metal.

Further to my last, Sir Jock Stirrup would NOT have been wearing the medal. He does not qualify for he is not a MP.
