anyone know? these where my school houses if the forest of dean and im trying to work out why?

I always thought housenames like this are/were the names of past school masters/mistresses.
sounds regional... Glevum was the Roman name for Gloucester, Flaxley's near the Severn, Cotswold and Dean you can guess.
Ask a past pupil/teacher of Double View Secondary School (as was), Cinderford.
