bascially no one was sure. Henry Viii her father had an act of parliament passed whcih allowed him to nominate a successor (!)
and she refused to name one - a successor
or to marry
This was quite a problem from early on in her feign from 1558, a because her brother and sister had only lasted five years
and she looked as thought she was goinng the same way after she nearly fied from small pox in 1562
