I wonder if anyone will know the answer to this historical mystery.
There is a story about a baron or knight who owned a coastal village and its seaport in the 17th Century, the guy was an evil person who was into everything from extortion to Highway Robbery.
During a tiff he had with someone, his hall was burnt down with him and everyone in it.
After that the demise of the village followed.
Why was that so?
Who was it who brought the demise of the village about?
A few more details would be handy. Do you know anything else about it? If not actual name of village, how about county/country? Where did you get the story from?
