Ok..... Not as good as the last one I know, but I just happened to have that card by accident. This isn't as much fun for me because I know where it is and what it is but I'll enjoy all your comments. I hope the link works 'cos I'm not too good at this...

Bet all those short railings on the walls were gone in the 1940s for the war effort.

Two things interest me, but don't know if they'd be relevant in establishing where it was taken.
It's obviously a residential street but there is a metal framework in the bottom left hand corner that looks like it might belong outside a shop supporting an awning.
Again in contrast to the "finished" appearance of the houses, the construction to the bottom right looks massive and pretty rough, almost like an old fortification of some sort.
Any relevance?

OK. The location is College Road in Bangor, Gwynedd (Caernarfonshire). The building on the right with the sloping roof is the VERY old and long closed Belle Vue garage with petrol pumps. This is attached to (out of the picture) the Belle Vue pub - still very much alive and kicking. On the back of the photograph is "Rag Day 1913". The awning belongs to Albin's shop now killed off by the supermarkets although it did hold out for a very long time as it opened late before the supermarkets stayed open late. I'll look out for another photo or card. Happy Easter everyone.
