I suspect there is not a simple answer then. Perhaps it depends on one's definition of a crusade. Is the number crucially important?
Have you no text books? Get a book from a library. Interpret what you read on the web.
Or have a word with your history teacher and ask for guidance on how to research and do essays.

However this is a topic which interests me, and I do believe that there were nine principal Crusades in the Middle Ages, but this is not exclusive, there were others.
I do find it highly offensive that someone comes on line asking a simple question which is easily researched (see the Wiki link) then gets abusive when people banter about it. Not the way to win friends and influence people.
