Ghosts - What do they want eh?
Dear All,
A question for those of you who have been supernaturally engaged and those who have read too many ghost stories.
Firstly, I'd like to know some universal truths about ghosts:
What don't they like? I.e. What scares a ghost?
A poltergeist can touch and move physical things, can it also be touched?
Secondly I'd like anyone to share ghostly experiences with me with as much "physical" description as possible please!
Strange questions and requests from me I know, but it is a Friday.
All the best,
Spare Ed

This happened every night or at least I heard it every time i was in the room at that time never bothered me...

What don't they like? I.e. What scares a ghost? i dont know about scared, but some do get irritated. My mum used a Ouija board once, heres her story
"One lunch hour at work myself and two other girls decided to play about with a makeshift Ouija board. We set the letters of the alphabet and the words Yes and No out on a desk, and like you do when you’re really not taking things very seriously asked if there was anyone there.
The tumbler, which we were each touching with one finger, moved to Yes.
We then asked for a name.
The tumbler moved round the circle until it had spelled out the name Hanratty. This was nearly forty years ago and everybody knew the name Hanratty then, so at that point each one of us thought one of the others was messing about.
Stupidly we asked “Did you do it?”
The tumbler spelled out “Go away”
We asked again “Did you do it?” and again the tumbler told us to go away.
We asked the same question a third time.
The tumbler set off at such a speed we couldn’t really take in what it was saying. It had actually spelled out “Kill you three”
As it finished we all let go. One of the girls was hysterical, the other one was praying. I know it wasn’t me guiding the tumbler and the other two girls were so frightened it’s hard to believe one of them was responsible.
We later tried making the tumbler go where we wanted but it was impossible to push it without it either tipping over or juddering. It had glided effortlessly to each letter and at a speed that wasn’t possible to reproduce."

A poltergeist can touch and move physical things, can it also be touched?
some say that the feeling of cold or the hairs going up on back of neck are due to contact with a ghost
I am unable to tell you of my recent experiences due to shows not being released as yet, but the 3rd answer on http://www.theanswerb...0.html#answer-4243175 gives a rough outline of some that occured before i joined the team

I have a proper answer for you ed.. I used to live in a barn conversion and things would go missing/turn up unexpectedly/lights turn on or off... anyhoo.. one night went into my hermetically sealed bathroom to find an ivy plant on the floor.. said 'bally hell (obvioulsy stronger language than that!) - if you want to play silly bu@@ers don;t do it at 3 o'clock in the morning.. especially when I have a cream carpet in my bathroom!!'.. and that was that.. never had another peep... I named him 'Jack the farm hand' and think my bathroom must have been his hayloft!!!
Red, Rowan and Lumination, thanks very much!
Rowan - did you feel that this "routine" was something the ghost was "trapped" into? Was there purpose on it. More importantly, was it frightening to you in any way?
Lumnation, any chance you could post the picture by using tinypic or similar?

I enjoyed reading your story Redcrx. The interesting thing about it is that years ago everybody thought he was innocent. There used to be "Hanratty is Innocent" written everywhere. Later development of DNA and retained clothing from the victim proved he was guilty. So whatever was moving the glass matched the spirit of a guilty person!
rowan, my grandad had similar experience.
each night he would see a lady walk into his room and she would bend down and kiss him on the forehead. He didnt know who she was though neighbours recognised her description as being a woman who had died many years before in the house, she had a lot of children who (apparently) she would kiss in turn before she went to bed each night.
