After WW2 they went on a bit of a Commie expansion spree and that was naughty, but they had nukes so could walk into any non-NATO country without deterrent.
Actually I think the question relates to the Soviet takeover of Estern Poland as the Nazi's took West Poland in 1939. Have a look at these:
The soviets invaded poland as part of a deal with the germans. they basically divided poland in two. this was arranged because germany wanted poland but did not want to start a war with the soviets by invading it, so they made a deal to take half each. the allies declared war on germany because germany had repeatedly broken its duties under the Traety of Versailles and the invasion of poland was the final straw. they did not declare war on the soviet union because they did not want to fight them. The allies knew that the germans + soviets were allies of covenience (they were ideologically opposed and in theory mortal enemies but both wanted territorial expansion without prolonged conflict) so the allies were relatively unconcerned with the soviet's actions as they had a much bigger problem - the germans. The allies did not want to alienate soviet russia (a potential ally in the long run) so they just declared war on germany. Further
