Additional home security - what is the best type of lock to get as a second lock on a front door?

I live in a small apartment building and my neighbour got broken into yesterday. The lock we have at the moment isn't the greatest, and I am now very worried about my home security. Is there any kind of additional lock I can install ot my front door?

There are loads of them available Boogie. Ordinary sliding bolts, and "rack bolts" are cheap and simple to fit ..............(key operates a "shoot" that slides into the doorframe)

A 5-lever mortice bolt/latch at the least.
This is minimum standard for insurance reasons.
You can operate this from inside or outside.
If you want additional protection, fit 2x Yale/Chubb Mortice bolts (as above) that use a splined key (internal operation only)

A mortice lock, definitely. I have a mortice and a Yale on my front door, the mortice is much stronger than the other.
