Meant brackets!!
I may have the wrong idea here, Smartie, but whenever I've used melamine, it was a clear liquid. Do you mean a melamine primer ...... ie a primer used to prepare melamine for ordinary paint?
Question Author
No builder - it says no primer needed. It's Cuprinol MDF & Melamine finish
I'd say prime the brackets separately .. with a spray acrylic primer or water-based finish.
Then paint with the Cuprinol.
