How successful is this? I'm really not up to removing the tiles floor to ceiling in my bathroom. I'm not actually sure if I'm up to tiling the damn room! However, if the tiles that are on the wall are sound, can I do this? Do I have to "scour" the tiles? Is there a special adhesive I have to use? Any advice gratefully recieved :-)
it can save a couple of hrs, but i would recommend to remove the existing ones. The best it to remove them out and do a proper job, instead of tiling on tile. But, if you have made up your mind, make sure you scratch the smooth surface of existing tile and then apply the coat with pva so that tile adhesives has something to hold on.
Tiling on the top of other tiles will make the bathroom a tiny bit smaller but the bit that really matters is the gap between the finished tiles and the bath taps.
Make sure that you will still be able to operate the taps on and off.
If you just have a shower cubicle then the problem won't arise but it is worth mentioning.
