...it is only a tiny leak...
Probably, try it and see.

I know you can get putty type adhesives to temporarily fix leaks.

Or you might get away with using a bit of hose (split and placed over) and ring clipped into place. At least whilst the heating isn't on.
This should do it Kloofers......................

The radiator won`t turn off,but that suits me as it helps keep towels dry.It only comes on when the water is heating.now in the summer ,comes on about 2/3 hours a day.(timer controlled).
My plummer friend put that putty type stuff, but still leaks...a tiny .tiny bit.
water will always squeeze its way out through the edges!

I hope so. In search of peace and quiet whilst watching a tv programmme or two tonight, I bought a load of duct tape for use on OH's mouth as he never shuts up. I'm hoping his saliva will not make it any less adhesive :D

Confused...I know just how you feel!!!!!
If it is that tiny a bit simply put a saucepan or something under it until your plumber can replace the pipe to fix it properly.
Yes, that's fine kloof. Just a different brand that's all.

LOL at alwaysconfused................. these might be better............

The Builder: you do realise you've just posted a link for headphones?
I'm lost at this one, just remove your OH. Headphones won't work, men can talk over them.
Just a bit of trivia. The 3M Company came up with the idea of Duct Tape during WW11. The US military wanted a waterproof method of fastening their ammunition boxes; therefore, 3M came up with "Duck Tape". After the war, it became known as Duct Tape in the booming post-war construction business. It was originally designed to keep water out, not in. (Water off a DUCK's back?)
Is duct tape waterproof? - yes, and no. The upper and lower surfaces are relatively waterproof, but it has a fibrous mesh interior that will soak up water from the edges of the tape, and if left long enough, this will turn the tape into a sticky wadge.
Next.... To seal the water leak you need something that will press down and seal off the source of the leak. Since it isn't elastic, duct tape wound round the pipe at a connector will be full of gaps. That's not good. Instead, I'd recommend 'self amalgamating tape'. If you're not familiar with it, this is a rubbery tape that's got no adhesive. Instead, with the backing removed, the tape will weld to itself. Cut off about a foot, and stretch it to half as much again, (easily done). Wind the tape tightly onto where the leak is, and to either side, keeping it tightly stretched as you do so. If you need more, just wind more on to what you've already applied.,,

oh dear Heathfield, that doesn`t sound good. This is only a temporary fix as I am away from Sat for two weeks, then I can get it sorted.
Question Author
Will it be ok til then????
If you turn the heating off for 2 weeks would that help ?
If it only leaks a little bit then surely a pan underneath will cope in the meanwhile.
Unsure why your plumber friend can't fix it before you go, must be a small job surely ?

I know Old-Geezer,he came twice and put some black putty-like paste,he came twice to it.This is an old house(I love it) but things are never straight forward. The heating is not on at present, being summer, but this radiator,as I have said before, won`t turn off and even tho` it is on "water only".it warms up when the boiler is topping up the hot water.
The house will not be empty when I am away,so cannot turn everything off.
