Best Way To Stick A Car Mirror Back On

My son has a Mondeo,the mirror on the windscreen keeps coming off,he has stuck it back on numerous times but still keeps coming off...Can anyone suggest the best glue to use.

Car spares places such as Halfords sell double sided pads for just this task, cleaning the windscreen thoroughly with alcohol (meths etc.) is important to ensure it gets a good 'stick'

Bloody Mondeos, this happened to ours when we had one about 10 years ago, it was a bugger to stick back, it's made me slightly paranoid about moving the mirror in our more recent cars. Good job the old man isn't much taller than me so it rarely needs touching.

Have to admit, we didn't have any luck with those but they may be better made nowadays. I think we used some industrial strength glue in the end.

I'm suspicious......young men don't usually bother with rear view mirrors.

Ford do their own mirror double sided pads which work well,maybe worth getting them from the dealer, there are so many different makes and brands, the cheap ones dont work. Been there done it.

Be aware most of these pads need UV light to go off, so do it on a sunny day. Make sure the both windscreen and mirror are scrupulously clean.

Doesn't have to be Halfords kloofnek, most car accessory shops will sell them.

I've successfully used Loctite 319 Car Rear View Mirror Bonder in the past.

Clear Silicone sealant.

Araldite will stick just about any thing, just make sure everything is nice and clean.
