My 20 year old asphalt flat garage roof is nearing the end of its natural life and I want to have it replaced or renovated. The asphalt surface is sound, with no excessive cracks or blisters. The roof does not leak and never has, so the chipboard base is also firm and sound
Can the experts among you recommend a suitable treatment, with specification. The area is approximately 15' x 8'.
If you intend to replace it think about having fibreglass, my roofer says that this is the way forward and that fibreglass has a very long life, something that I will have to think about in a few years time. Not sure of costs .
A good "hot pitch" roof can easily last 20 years, Derek. I know of some that are thirty years old now, but I agree, modern alternatives can do even better.
Glass fibre is very good, and EDPM seems to be a favourite now............
