The council have given me a new garage door and have put a 7 inch slide bolt at the bottom on both sides. How can I lock these off so no body can put a padlock on with the bolt across so I cannot access my garage. The only thing I can think of is to buy 4 padlocks as you can lock it on the top or bottom.

Sorry I can't be of much help, but if somebody put padlocks on my garage door, I'd be straight out with the bolt croppers .... the only problem is, they're in the garage lol :(
I'd do as you said though, padlock them up yourself, to prevent anyone else putting padlocks on.
Why should anyone want to lock your garage, Giggles?

Can't you simply remove the bolts?

I don't know why they were put on in the first place.
They were probably put on so that you can secure the door yourself with padlocks. Garage door locks are notoriously easy to open - I lost all my tools a few years ago.
