Best Way To Emulsion A Wall

I am thinking of getting one of those paint systems
Can anyone recommend one to take the hassle out of it
I've just tried using a roller and given up half way through the wall
There must be an easier way

What type of wall covering does it have?

I'm just emulsioning over emulsion

No not paint pads yet but I can't help thinking one of the systems will make it easier

There isn't one ric, any 'gimics' you see advertised are a waste of paint. Just get stuck in with a good quality brush.

If you have the correct equipment ..... using a roller is the best and is very easy.

Paint pads are really good on textured wallpaper. I did look at the Dulux paint system but the reviews weren't good.

Rollers are very easy. Have you got a paint pole? I painted our living room in a couple of hours.

Imo not on flat plastered walls or lining paper. They work really well on textured paper.

To be perfectly honest the roller and tray came from the pound shop

I have used paint pads years ago, but they gave a smeary finish.
I find that using a small brush to do all the edges, and sticking a roller on a broom handle, takes the hassle out. The going up and down laddrs can be tiring. Stick the whole roller and tray effort into a couple of plastic shopping bags overnight so they don't dry out and don't need washing, then put another coat on next day.

As has already been suggested, use a roller with an extension pole but NOT a tray - that way lies the hassle. Spend a few quid and get yourself a proper emulsion bucket - there is no easier way. And, as divebuddy says, dilute the first coat.

I use pads. I have tried brush and roller. Brush is too much like hard work on my old wrists. Rollers are quick, but splash too much and waste paint. Pads are quick and easy, plus you can slide the head to one side and paint behind radiators.

Well an emulsion bucket is proving to be a bit tricky to track down

cut in all the edges then starting from the middle make a continuous W motion wtih the roller use a brush going towards the edging.

Think the technical name for them is 'paint scuttles', Ric.ror. Cost about £3 - £4 for a 10l and most decent DIY shops ought to stock them.
