We inherited a nice garden bench but it could be doing with another coat of paint....without having to buff it right down what would be the best paint for it? Thanks in advance

Acrylic paint has good adhesion.
I would go for Dulux you get what you pay for this is good

Are you sure you want a paint as opposed to a garden furniture wood stain?
If you want a good result Driver, you have to buff to stop the Lacquer cracking / bubbling, I would go with Tony's option, I have a garden bench myself & I use stone paint by Homebase, It's not often I use unknown paints but I find this Brick Red a good product.
Give it light rub down, tack off the dust, then a coat of oil based undercoat, followed by one or 2 coats of oil based gloss.

cheers guys a lot of good advice there
I always use Cuprinol garden paint for my wooden garden furniture. Just a slight rub down and it goes over the top nicely, lasts for years and comes in some lovely colours.
Any paint used outdoors should be UV resistant otherwise you are wasting your time and money.
Cuprinol for me too.
