Wet Room Style Flooring

Looking to install some wet room style flooring in our kennels ..... the type you also get in gyms/hospitals etc which covers about 6 inches up ghee wall as well as the floors. Dues anyone know what it's calls and also how to fit it into a right angle corner? TIA

Altro and AKW are a couple of wet room flooring suppliers that i know of, they will probably supply you with some samples. I would imagine that they also supply the forms that provide the radius going up the wall.

To complete answer to your question to fit into corner you need to remove a v section of the flooring the bottom of the v will have a 90 degree angle. As flooring goes up the wall the two legs of the v will come together and form a seam. Difficult to describe in words, hope you can fathom it out. You can try with a piece of paper to make a pattern that you can cut your flooring to.

^^^^^ continued 90 degrees would be right without the former the angle will be dependant on the radius of the former.

Barsel .... can I ask how you found a fitter for this? Was it carpet fitter?

March-Hare It was done as a complete bathroom job by a company called Kier and they have different people to do different jobs but I do remember the man who did the flooring had a time set by just for him to do that job as it seemed quite a specialist job. If this is the flooring you are after, you could probably phone the polyflor company for advice about fiiting, and I think you could probably ask for samples.

March Hare its a bit more technical than carpet laying. You may need to put some levelling compound down. I know its a kennels, but it is more to allow adhesive 100% contact in your case.

The joints in wetroom flooring are welded using a tool that works much like a soldering iron. It can have various tips fitted, depending on the weld required.
Whenyou are paying in excess of £50 per metre for your flooring. Best to leave it to the guy who knows, otherwise it could become a bit expensive to teach yourself by DIY.

I would just google Wet room installers (your area) and go from there. Personally I personally would take membership if trade association with a pinch of salt. I find them a bit incestuous, with trader paying association to join and be recommended, just doesn't sit right with me. Before you sign up just ask to see some previous work.
