I have a flat concrete roof that is above an old utility room which has become a dining room. The felt which is currently down needs renewing. I have had two people round and neither seemed interested in the job and neither returned with a price. What is involved in laying a new covering myself?? Any ideas?? Im sure the two people who looked thought it too small a job.

Better to have it done by someone who's experienced. It's not at all difficult to do, but it's also very easy to do a job that'll not last. Ask in your local pub - they may 'know a man who can', (even an employee of the people you approached)! Specify heavy grade polypropylene reinforced felt for durability.
any more than 250 and you're being ripped off...
We're having a gagrage built, and the builder (and ones we got quotes off) are reluctant to put a flat roof on because of how easily they fail. Our builder said there is little different in cost, but that was new not replacing.
