Guess that means that somewhere along the pipe there is a blockage... Is it easier just to pour bleach down the plug hole or something else?

If the gurgling is new then it could be worth trying a plunger. Block off the overflow while plunging. The pressure and vacuum caused by the plunger should dislodge minor blockages and let them drain away. Failing that try 'Drain Magic' from good hardware stores. It's a strong acid and shifts most stubborn blockages for about 4. Be careful - read the safety instructions. Cheers, Andy

Thanks very much Andy. Will probably try the Drain Magic stuff
Mine gurgles all the time and it is notr blocked.
Don't bother trying bleach, bleach may sterilise the blockage, it may even turn it white, but will not remove it!!

thanks guys, will have the plunger at the ready!!!
The gurgling dousn't necessarily mean you have a blockage, it could just be that your waste is linked to another appliance such as a basin, and whilst its very annoying, it may be nothing to worry about. Can you see where the pipework goes?.
