Combi boiler banging

As per sach52 below I have a combi boiler. However it bangs all throughout the period that it is on - but not very often.

I have also had a problem with air in my pipes - but that has settled down.

I don't want to get the BGas man up (contract) in case the boiler is dying (12 + years old) as I want to wait a bit longer before getting my new boiler, so that I can resite it when I get my new kitchen (when that will be I don't know).

Can anybody reassure me that I am not going to come home one day to an exploding boiler and two wet and pretty annoyed cats.

I have the same problem and also had it with my last boiler which was fairly new.
Think the noise you are hearing is the boiler igniting every so often.
Everyone I know who has a combi boiler hears that noise.
Maybe we all have rubbish boilers.lol
No, I don't think you have anything to worry about although it is annoying at times.
