I'm due to seal plaster skim with 50/50 diluted matt Crown paint (is matt OK?) then use Dulux kitchen paint as the final 2 coats. Will the 2 paint types be compatible? The reason behind this is that I already had the Crown but the colour I really want is in the Dulux range. Any help would be appreciated before I start and make a mess of it!

Thank you rabbitgirl (and hubby!). This time next week I should have a very tasteful violet kitchen!
Now you just hang on a minute - you made no mention of that colour!!! Tasteful violet kitchen?? Oh my gawd!!!
Note form flosswoss - "Forgot to mention, i'm covering the doors with stripey wallpaper and hanging chairs on the walls
Well you'll have to feel sorry for me cos I'm flosswoss's sister and will have to put up with the violet kitchen, but it was pink before, so I suppose it's an improvement.

Sorry A, only joking!!!!!
Please tell me, what is plaster skin with 50/50 matt crown paint? I may be wrong, but it sounds as though you are trying to cover imperfections. Am I right? if so will have a go myself as am trying to fill a lot of little gouges and its driving me mad. Thank you

Hey crossroads, not thought of that, but how do I fix the chairs to the walls? It'll be a very tasteful violet rabbitygirl - yes, there is such a thing, and oi fabsec, get back to work!

Glenbarr - the plaster skim was put over a very lumpy wall and is now lovely and smooth. The 50/50 refers to half matt paint/half water - I think it's called a mist coat that seals new plaster before using neat paint. Gosh, must be in the wrong job!
Thanks for that flosswoss. Unfortunately it wouldn't do it for me. Really I need it re-plastering, but its only a small space where the previous people blocked up a doorway so a plasterer wouldn't be interested I dont suppose.
