We've used Danish oil on the exposed woodwork in our house, about 2 or 3 coats applied with a soft cloth but we haven't sandblasted any beams so you might need slightly more coats if it absorbs more.
The mix is 50-50 turps and 'boiled' linseed oil. (Don't ever use 'raw' linseed oil, it tends not to dry out). For best results, use the brush to apply a liberal coating. Keep applying it so the wood remains wetted for about an hour. The wood will absorb the oil. Next, wipe the wood down. The wood will exude excess oil, so keep on wiping until no more oil is exuded. It's a bit of a labour, but the results will be long-lasting.
