upvc beading

i need to remove 2 upvc door panels. whats the best way of removing the beading without damaging the doors? do i need a special tool?

I've seen it done once, the glazier used what looked like a wallpaper or paint scraper, a broad thin bladed tool, put in the middle of the longest bead between the bead and the frame, and hit it with a hammer and it should snap out, the rest are easier, start at the ends.
