Cable for exterior security light
I need to fix a security light about 30ft from it's indoor outlet socket. I will run the cable under as much protection as possible, ie. window cills, soffits etc. and it will not be touching the ground at any point. My question is : do I need a special exterior cable or can I use standard PVC cable ?

There are different qualities of sheathing so you could find a better quality one to do the job. If you are running it as a spur off the ring main, then use standard 1mm (or 1.5mm) squared grey cable, tacked on using the proper cable clips..
