Hi, I have recently taken out a standard radiator from my bathroom in order to replace with towel rad. The old unit had the pipes extruding from the wall and went into the side of the rad.

My problem is that the new towel rad has it's holes at the bottom and therefore cannot simply be connected to the old connectors!! DOH !!

Is there a way, other than calling in a plumber I can connect the new rad to the piping?? Use an angled connector?

I'm afraid, jnewns, that it's likely to be a plumbing job :o(
The existing rad valves need to be cut off, then a little new pipework needed to connect them to the towel rail
These sort of exchanges are rarely a straight swap. One needs to adapt the pipework to suit using bends and short lengths of copper.
If you go to a DIY shed you will find various connectors and you could use compression fittings (with a nut to screw up) to avoid you having to solder.
Otherwise it's call a plumber. A competent HandyMan also would be able to do this type of work if you can find one.
