My current thermostat is a fairly old Honeywell unit attached to a wall in the downstairs hall. I'm fairly sure it doesn't work properly as turning the dial does not make anything click on or off. Is it just a question of getting a new one at Homebase or the like and attathing it to the existing wiring? The system is a normal boiler (not combi)
yeah get one of the same type and you should be fine just following the wiring, rem that the stat carries 240v though so make sure you switch the juice off
You can confirm the old one is dud really easily - it's just a simple mechanical on/off switch. Though I agree the lack of a click is a pretty good clue.
