I knew that the spray gun advertised on TV wouldn't be that good - spraying tops of fences and fences with gaps would lead to trouble. But I thought I would try it on the one end of my shed where the space between it and my neighbour's fence is about one foot. I thought it would help me in such a confined space.
If you want one free, there is one, almost new, barely used, on my local tip. After about 30 seconds of use it blocked. I had shaken the container well, I had primed the gun, I even washed it out three times during my attempt to use it but to no avail. Don't waste your money!!

Pretty much my experience, and a very longwinded messy job to empty and clear out after use
Hi Sandmaster, If only you had asked beforehand I could have told you not to bother. Another no go is the paint roller from a well known paint manufacturer (Woof Woof)

I'm just glad it isn't my incompetence. It seemed too good to be true. My wife and I have always laughed at the advert which shows someone painting a fence - whilst the neighbours are the other side. I reckon that could be a future scene for Mr Bean!!
Hi the best sprayer is the battery operated one by cuprinol.my mu who is 76 used this and painted 11 fence panels in just over 1/2 an hour. It has a constant spray, not like the ones that you have to pump. The one she used is rechargable and takes an hour to recharge. Easy peasy.

Perhaps the Cuprinol treatment chemical is better than the Ronseal for such a gun. The Ronseal is wax based and in my experience it has lumps which block the spray gun. Hard shaking of the container did not remove the lumps.
