shower heads

i'm fitting a large shower head to a thermostatic shower running on a combi boiler which is about thirty feet away i've been told that i will suffer severe pressure loss is this true and if so what can i do about it. any answers would be greatly appreciated thanx

Assuming you have a decent mains pressure Paul, it shouldn't be a problem. Thirty feet isn't that far..........might take a little while for the hot to get there though.........would help if you could lag the hot pipe from the boiler to the shower :o)

thanx for that "the builder" u've put my mind at rest but say the pressure isn't great enough is there any sort of shower valve i could fit that would boost the pressure to the head

The only problem I can foresee is that if it's one of those huge Victorian-style shower heads with a 9'' or 10'' diameter, on full flow your combi boiler might not be able to keep up with heating the water sufficiently. If that's the case, you'd have to reduce the flow from the showerhead to get water heated to an acceptable temperature..
