shower has lost pressure, why?

Our shower has lost pressure, we have had it a few years. It used to be a lot stronger, and the temperature has also dropped. I have to turn it up warmer than I used to to get it to the same temp. Help?

Edited to add: there is plenty of pressure on the cold side!

My sympathies. Our shower is and always has been, b***dy pathetic. A plumber came and said it was easy to fix, took 1/2 a day, put it back together and it's just as bad. Something to do with the position of the hot tank and the way the plonker diy 'expert' that fitted it routed the pipes. We often end up going into our caravan for a shower because it's a much better one lol.
The worst of it is ........................... we don't have a bath! lol

Hi K8...........if it's electric and a few years old.......then, sadly, you'd be better off replacing it with a new one.
Depending on the make, service kits and spares are available, but somehow, I don't think you'd be into that...........................no offence..........LOL

thanks for your help, its actually my mums partner who is fixing the shower, he just doesnt like using the net to find solutions so thought i woul! he is capable of diy stuff, but your right i wouldnt be!
