insulating a house with no cavity wall (built 1926)

Please could somebody recommend how I can insulate my house but as it was built in 1926 we have no cavity wall. The main external wall which is the side to my hallway and toddlers bedroom is FREZZING. I have more then adequate heating and double size rads. Roof is also fully insulated.

I woul either batten the walls,then put polystyrene between battens then plaster board, and skim or you can buy plasterboard that has polystyrene backing, this is stuck to walls then plastered, therer is also a product similar to bubble wrap that you put over battens then plasterboard, any of these solutions would make a fantastic difference to the warmth of any room, good luck, Ray

Typical I had it all decorated last year.

Im presuming there is nothing that can be done on the outside because we haven't got cavity wall. Only the outisde is due to be painted etc.

Hi fluffy, that is so typical, take a look at this link, it is possible to insulate exterior, but I have no idea on costs etc. hope you manage to sort something. Ray
