We have a brown wood-effect UPVC front foor. Whilst it was still under warranty, a man from Anglian Windows came and sprayed it to restore the glossy sheen on the exterior. It has faded again and is now out of warrantly. Any ideas what would have been used to spray it with, it was in an aerosol can.

Sounds like a lacquer of some kind Beany.
Best thing would be to ring them, explain the problem, and ask what they used - better still, ask if you can buy some from them...........if they've got any sense....... it's all good customer relations :o)
Just mentioned the problem of your door to Hubby.
Is it just a panel that has lost it's sheen?
Depeneding where you live, He advised to contact Glass and Glazing. They will recommend the best product to use. Good Luck. x
Seems like a car dash shine product like Armor all would do the same.
