Combi boilers
I have a two bed end terrace with 6 radiators and i am thinking of having a combi boiler system installed. However, there are so many different boilers out there that i keep getting conflicting info as to which boiler is best. Alpha, Volkeira, Vaillant etc, etc. Which one should i get or more importantly, shouldn't i get?

you can go wrong with any boiler including worcester bosch, they all have large service and warranty departments but thats ok as long as you are aware of this.
get to the library and read the WHICH mag for free, sept 08 and sept 07 , a report on boilers and servicing
this is from their users viewpoint, any advice you get from an installer will be swayed by how much money they can make
thats ok too as long as you realisle this
my advice is worcester bosch, valliant, glowworm, baxi potterton can all go wrong ,sometimes but you get what you pay for and they seem to be the ones that get recommended the most
so read the report and see what you think

hi glesga I had read so much about complicated combies going wrong and not delivering enough hot water so I opted for a heat only Worcester Bosch Greenstar 18 Ri fitted in Sept 08 we wanted to keep the indirect Hot Cylinder so that was updated at the same time refurbed 6 rads renewed 2 fitted with TRVs we have the whole 3 bed house nice and warm for less cost now safe in the knowlege that any spares that may be needed are to hand just down the road hth Tez
if your sure you want to go for a combi boiler and presuming the water pressure in your house is high enough for a combi to operate properly then a worcester-bosch greenstar or a vaillant are the ones to go for
power wise the more powerful the better the hot water delivery, id go for a minimum of 28kw.
