Honest mistake. Opened the tent in a garage to dry out which knocked a piece of wood with a nail sticking out into a large container of cooking oil which has now leaked onto my new tent.
If the Dry-cleaner can't help you and you are still left with an oily tent, I would be inclined to clean it with turps to get the oil off, allow most of the turps to evaporate and then use washing up liquid to remove the residue of the turps.
You can re-waterproof the tent using a silicone aerosol spray.
I used to spray a fishing umbrella with the silicone stuff years ago and it worked a treat.
I suppose it will depend on how big the tent is and how much a new one would cost???
Best of luck.
