Heating switch

Hi,
I've just attempted to fit a 20amp heater switch. However, one of the screw holes in the metal frame has a bust screw in it and I can't get enough purchase to free it. The frame has 2 more screwholes at the top and bottom. Is it okay to turn the switch sideways or can i buy a switch with holes at the top and bottom. Alternatively how do I remove the bust screw. Is it possible to exchange one of the scrrew holders at the top and put it on the side.

I don't think you can get a square 20A switchplate with holes top and bottom.
There's no reason why the switch can't be turned through 90 degrees.

Usually one lug is fixed and the other slides to facilitate horizontal positioning of switch. If you're fortunate enough to have the problem on the sliding lug then you should be able to take it out and replace it with one from another box, (or the same box) Other that that, replace the whole box; or drill out the old screw - after providing a good bed to do so. Normal socket/switch screws are M3.5mm.

No problem turing switch , just aesthetics
