Bath sealant

I am trying to re seal our bath, but am having terrible problems removing the sealant from previous job. Some of it is like chewing gum, some of it is silcone. I have tried to remove as much as possible, but its not leaving me with anything like enough of a flat surface to reseal. Its taking forever !
What is the best way to get it off?

Stanley knife blade or craft knife blade .. like cleaning paint spots from a window glass ... or like shaving! Works perfectly, but carefule of your fingers.

And be aware that these blades can scratch the glaze on tiles unless you proceed slowly and carefully, maintaining a shallow angle.

You can get a silicone solvent fron most good DIY chains...it works well.

As above, Stanly knife, then I found that a cloth + white spirit, got rid of the last pieces

silicone remover get it in bq about £2.50 put on with a small brush and wipe off repeat process take you 30 mins top.
reseal 30 secs job done
