I have a Cannon Cambridge Double Oven and evey time I light either oven, which has to be done manually, the ignition constantly fires until the oven is switched off. This does not happen when just using the grill or hobs. Any ideas?
Hi, how long have you had it for. I had one for 8 years and the ignition worked fine then gave up altogether. If you have had it for a long time and can't get it fixed I would look at different make. I have recently bought a new one a Carrick which is still a cannon and had nothing but trouble with it. 4 engineers to look at it and am now on second one and they been twice to look at this one too. The ovens keep going out for no reason. I looked on line and they are not getting good reviews these days. Wish I had checked before buying it.
Cannon are still one of the better make of cooker but unfortunately the great British brand are now manufactured in Poland and quality has gone downhill since.
As for your ignition not stopping, the spark generator is not recognizing the presence of the flame so it prob needs replacing, if the unit for your model is still available they are anything from £35 to £75 and then you have fitting costs on top of that which from me would prob be £40.
Then as gucciman says you have also got the price of fitting on top. They also do a fixed price repair service whereby they will give you a price to fix your cooker and change any parts that need changing for the same price. Try this link if you want to try that.
