If you could cut up the vinyl precisely (with no concerns about the number of joins or of their positions), simple mathematics shows that 4m x 1.425m = 5.7sq.m.

In practice you probably can't buy fractions of a metre anyway, so you'll need to buy 2m (rather than 1.425m).
