Stable door with cat flap

We've just got a stable door for the side door and need to put a cat flap in. This is the style http://www.wickes.co....ble-Door/invt/205785.

With it not being a solid door would this cause problems?

we've got that door and it is solid...planks in a surround. Could you cut through the planky bit and have kitty jump in over the surround? you might need to check the thickness of the cat door or put padding round it if the planky bit isn't thick enough

Hi Susie, I put one in a door similar to this many years ago and it was fine and I am not a carpenter. Just make sure you follow the instructions and all should be ok. Shed.

Just wanted to agree with Woofter here, Susie.
One thing, if you have a diagonal brace on the inside of the door, you would probably have to modify it.
I must remember that .......... "planky bit" .......... always wondered what it was called ;o)

You can buy cat flaps to put into windows,is this any help?

I have a catflap in a double glazed door which is set above the door frame, and the cat just learns to hop a bit higher. (Don't do what a dim chippy was about to do for us many years ago, and put the catflap up where the letterbox ought to be - what did he think we had, crane-cat?!)
