The lockout lamp on my oil fired combi boiler came on yesterday and, as a consequence, the heating went off. Before you ask, yes, we have got oil in the tank. Any suggestions as to what it might be and how I can get it working again please. TIA

Pull out/unscrew the flame failure device/sensor and check that for sooting.
What make/model?
Does it run for a minute then shutdown?
If no run at all, possibility of solenoid, motor/pump assy.

Thanks Al, 'tis the solenoid, being replaced tomorrow so hot water and heating again! Hooray|!
