Upgrading my TV aerial

I have recently purchased a new plasma tv with free view, the picture keeps breaking up all the time and is not great to watch, so I am going to upgrade the aerial to a "high gain" one instead. A couple of questions:
1] do you think this will solve the problem?
2] My flat was build in the mid 80's, do I need to repalce the co-axle wiring as well?

Any replies from anyone who has had the same problem or any insight would be much appreciated.

Hi jonboy, I think you've covered the 2 main things involved with digital tv.

I have a huge cable stretching up to my sons bedroom and sometimes it's OK but most of the time it breaks up and the picture goes.

I know if I put an aerial up above his room with a new cable running in it would be perfect.

If you have it connected to Sky, Virgin etc... then do you need to watch Freeview that much?
Are you sure your existing aerial is pointing in the right direction for Freeview? Are all the cables and connections in good order?
Why not ask if the neighbours have had to do anythging in this respect?
I had to upgrade mine when I bought a digibox..............
Another thing that it could be is, has your region changed over fully to Digital yet. If not this could be part of the problem as the signal will be boosted when this happens.
