I have just put a new basin in my en-suite. Then I dropped something in it and now it has a very fine crack on the inside. Can I repaire with sealant? Would it work?

Almost certainly not. At least, not long-term.
buy a replacement
If you Vee the crack out on underside all way around with stone cutting disc and seal with silicone, it would probably work .. but it could get worse and show as dirt gets in it .. then leak. Best to get another and careful of the tap spanner next time!
Don't know how to fix this; think you may have to get a new sink, but could make some "cracks" about this if that would help you feel better.
Stop fapping around. You do have house insurance l assume?
Just claim for it.
Can you repair it?
No

Can you successfully claim on your property insurance?
Probably yes. (Well I did, anyway!)
